What is the screening process for A Nanny For U temporary nannies?

Our temporary nannies meet the same high standards as our permanent nannies. In addition to completing in-depth application reviews, interviews, criminal background checks and driving records, our nannies are required to: have at least 3 professional child care references, have at least 2 years experience in child care settings, own a reliable car with full coverage auto insurance, be certified in infant and child CPR, and be a non-smoker.

What do temporary nannies charge? Do I pay the nanny directly?

All of our temporary nannies charge $15-18 per hour. Rates will increase depending on the number of children. Yes, you will pay the nanny their wages directly upon the completion of the assignment, either by cash or check. The nanny's wages are separate from our agency fees.

What agency fees can I expect?

An annual registration fee of $200 is due upon receipt of your signed temporary agreement. This registration fee gives you access to our temporary services for the following year. A $20 daily placement fee (up to 12 hours) is also applied once a nanny has been confirmed for your requested dates. There are additional fees for overnight care, large groups of kids, and other extraordinary circumstances.

Is it possible to hire the same candidate for each assignment?

We cannot guarantee that the same person will be available for each assignment, but we will do our best to place the same nanny for each requested date. We require that all scheduling is done through the agency; clients may not contact our nannies directly to request dates.

Can I interview the temporary nanny ahead of time?

There is not a formal interview process for temporary nannies. You will have the chance to talk with the nanny ahead of time when they call you directly to confirm the date and time, and get directions.

What if I hire a candidate and then decide I don't need their services?

We do not offer refunds or credits for cancelled dates. If you cancel a confirmed date, all fees still apply. If the temporary nanny that is scheduled with you cancels we will find a replacement or apply a credit towards future dates.

Can a temporary candidate drive my children?

Our temporary nannies are required to have their own reliable car with full coverage auto insurance. A thorough driving record check is done for each nanny before the nanny is placed with a family. Our nannies are qualified to drive your children, but specific instructions and/or limits should be discussed between you and your temporary nanny. Nannies reserve the right to charge for any mileage incurred on the job (this does not include driving to and from the position). The current federal rate of reimbursement is 50.5 cents per mile, and can be found at mileage reimbursement information.
