Local Seattle Ski Resorts

SNOW!

Snow is here and it decided to come early this year! We aren’t complaining though, that just means we get to enjoy it that much longer. If you are a snow bunny and love to bundle up and get outside for some snow activities, then below we let you know our favorite places to hit the slopes!

Summit at Snoqualmie:

This is the easiest access for Seattle, right off I-90 about 50 minutes East! Ski, snowboarding, tubing they have it all! They also have great nighttime skiing so if you want to ski under the stars this is the place for you! Opening day for limited operations due to the early snow has happened as of 12/2 but check out the website to see when they fully open as it is weather pending!

Crystal Mountain:

As the largest ski area in Washington state, and amazing views of Mt. Rainier on top of that, the drive to Crystal is all worth it. Even if you aren’t someone who wants to ski or snowboard then you can always take the scenic gondola up to dinner and enjoy the views all the same! With dining, shops, RV and camping, resort and lots of activities there is something for everyone! They are currently open for the season so checkout their site to get your passes!

Stevens Pass:

This Mountain is a bit higher than the others which means better snow! Still a bit further than Snoqualmie there is tons to offer especially on the beautiful drive over. Take a class to better your abilities or enjoy a day tubing and head 30 minutes over to the beautiful town of Leavenworth. For sure a destination not to be missed, especially during this time of year!

Mt. Baker:

Head north to enjoy a beautiful family owned, independent ski area, there are multiple day lodges to enjoy and tons, TONS of snow. Mt. Baker holds the records for the worlds most snowfall in one year. If you are into a more extreme terrain this has your name written all over, it. Estimated opening day is December 14th but keep an eye out their site for official details!
